A competitive Pinfold Trophy final was contested between the Little Stoke Sunday A XI and the Alsager 3rd XI at the Sid Jenkins Ground on Sunday.
The final was played in a good spirit and having won the toss Little Stoke decided to bat first. Omar Arbab and Adil Javid both batted watchfully for 49 and 48 respectively ensuring a great platform for the later order batsmen. Some powerful hitting from Mohammad Asif (20) and Khair Rehman (24*) allowed Little Stoke to post a highly competitive 209 all out (39.2 overs).

Tanveer Ahmed starred for Alsager with the ball collecting 5 wickets in his 8 overs and going for just 30 runs. He was well supported by Aamir Shah (2 wickets), Khalid Yosofzai (1 wicket) and Ateeq Ur Rehman (1 wicket).

Abid Hussain and Khair Rehman opened the bowling and soon made early inroads into the Alsager batting order. Abid Hussain took 3 wickets with one excellent slip catch from Imran Khan. Khair Rehman took one wicket. Adil Javed in a highly destructive spell took four wickets with three of them well caught by Mohammad Asif.

Osama Salamat (31) and Aamir Shah (20) provided the resistance for Alsager but with Adil Javid proving irresistible on the day the innings subsided to 78 all out (24.4 overs).

Adil Javid was presented with the Man of the Match award for his 48 runs, 4 wickets and a catch.

Well done everyone!
